The need for data backups spares no one — and certainly not Amazon sellers. It is highly recommended to regularly back up all product-related catalog data, such as listing information, dimensions, ingredients, etc.

Fortunately, it’s quite simple — once you know how: use a Reverse Flat File or Reverse Feed.

This feature is available by default in Seller Central. If it isn’t visible in your account, contact Amazon Support and request access.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Log in to your Amazon Seller Central account.
  2. Open the menu in the top left corner.
  3. Go to Reports > Inventory Reports.
  4. Choose the report type: Category Listings ReportRequest Report.
  5. Wait until the report is ready for download (you may need to refresh the page).
  6. Download the report and check whether all product data is included.

This category-specific report allows you to download information for all categories at once.

If needed, these files can later be transferred directly to another account — no manual re-entry required.
